Yardly

Company description

Yardly bills itself as "Uber, for your yard" — an online subscription platform connecting residential and commercial property owners directly with lawn care personnel and companies, aimed at replacing the usual hassle of DIY yard work or hiring unreliable one-off help. The company was part of the Emerging Industries cohort of Startup Texas, the accelerator sponsored by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) in partnership with UTRGV's Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC), and later returned to apply for BCIC's Startup Texas Advancement Fund, a follow-on grant program for past graduates.

Founder Mario Gonzalez has an unusually colorful path into entrepreneurship: by his own account, he became the youngest General Manager in Whataburger's company history at age 21, before leaving that role to start a media company that grew to six-figure revenue. He founded Yardly in June 2024 as a solo, full-time founder, describing it as his vehicle to reach seven figures after what he described as instantly finding product-market fit.

Founder: Mario Gonzalez

Program: 2024 StartUp Texas Accelerator - Emerging Industries cohort; also applied to the 2025 Startup Texas Advancement Fund
