Company description
Rewear AI is an AI-powered cross-listing tool for clothing resellers, designed to automate the tedious parts of listing secondhand items across multiple marketplaces (eBay, Depop, and Mercari, among others) — taking a photo of a clothing item and using AI to generate a title and description, and pulling live market data to help price the item appropriately. The pitch leans on a distinctly local opportunity: the Rio Grande Valley has a large, unique used-clothing export and resale economy, and Cruz built the tool to help both individual resellers and small resale businesses in that market sell faster and more profitably. The company is a graduate of the 2024 Startup Texas SBIR/STTR Innovation Competition, a program run by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) in partnership with UTRGV's Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (ECC) and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), and has continued receiving BCIC support since through the Startup Texas Advancement Fund.
Founder Oshun Cruz is a UTRGV computer science graduate who built and bootstrapped Rewear AI as a solo founder, initially funding development by using his own AI tools to resell clothing himself. He founded the company in early 2024 and, as of his original application, was working on it full-time alone, planning to hire an SEO specialist and a software engineer as the product grew.
